Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Freight Invoice Clerk to join our accounting team. The Freight Invoice Clerk will be responsible for processing and reconciling freight invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to carriers, and maintaining accurate records of freight costs. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and review freight invoices from carriers
- Ensure accuracy of invoice information, including rates, mileage, and weight
- Process and reconcile invoices in a timely manner
- Communicate with carriers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues
- Maintain accurate records of freight costs and payments
- Prepare monthly reports on freight expenses
- Assist with month-end closing activities as needed
- Collaborate with the accounting team to improve processes and procedures related to freight invoicing
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in freight invoicing or a similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of transportation industry regulations and best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
